Richard E. McCallum is a Navy combat cameraman turned filmmaker, screenwriter, and author whose stories travel from the Missouri River to the courts of Heaven and everywhere in between.
With a B.S. in Film and Television from Montana State University and an M.A. in Cinema from USC Los Angeles, McCallum spent thirty years in the Hollywood and San Francisco Bay Area film industry before turning his camera eye to the page.
His work spans courtroom drama, historical fiction, Civil War narrative, and mythopoetic horror — all grounded in documented history, mythology, and religious scholarship. Nothing in his stories is invented. Everything traces to a source.
Published in California Writers Club anthologies, the WordSmyth literary magazine, BiblioBook Library, Amazon KDP, and Inkitt — with titles now shelved in the Redwood Shores public library — McCallum brings fifty years of storytelling instinct to every page.

Over the years, my work has been celebrated at book launches, writers’ gatherings, and community events. These moments remind me that storytelling is never solitary — it’s a conversation.
Today, REMStories bridges the traditional and the unexpected: an author at the podium, a writer in dialogue with AI, a voice mixing myth, faith, and satire, and a storyteller rooted in a place, yet reaching across the digital frontier.
Future plans are to continue to build REMStories Presents into a multi-platform Entertainment Studio. I bring together the timeless and the contemporary, creating stories that resonate across generations and platforms.
